По поводу альбома в интервью Брайан Молко сказал следующее:
"Я думаю, есть много песен…о вреде и последствиях потребления алкоголя. Песня 'Infra-red', о том, что когда ты очень пьян, у тебя словно пчелы в голове и появляется некая мстительность. Ты начинаешь думать о людях, которые были не правы и хочешь установить истину".
В записи альбома приняли участие Майкл Стайп из R.E.M. и Элисон Моссхарт из The Kills.
В январе 2007 альбом был переиздан в США компанией Virgin Records и были добавлены 3 новых песни ("Lazarus", "UNEEDMEMORETHANINEEDU" и "Running Up That Hill"), но была убрана "In the Cold Light of Morning".
